Washington, DC – May 24, 2016 – Bisnow named Cooley lawyers Brian Burke and Brooke Nussbaum to its annual Trending 40 Lawyers Under 40 list. This annual list recognizes Washington, DC's top lawyers under 40 "who have distinguished themselves with exceptional performance and potential."
Burke and Nussbaum, associates in Cooley's business department, are commended for their ongoing work and commitment to emerging growth companies and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Burke's practice focuses on venture capital and growth equity financings, M&A, and the general representation of both established and emerging growth companies. In 2015, Burke completed more than 40 venture financings and M&A transactions for some of the most high-profile, disruptive companies and their investors in a broad range of industries, including edtech, fintech, healthtech and cyber. He is an integral member of the venture community and also volunteers his time by teaching a "Venture Boot Camp" for University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
Nussbaum specializes in corporate and securities law and is known for her work advising some of the most high-profile companies and venture funds, including Hyperloop One, recently advising the company on its Series B financing, Optoro, LivingSocial, Revolution Growth, Sherpa Ventures and 1776. Nussbaum is also involved in numerous startup programs and regularly mentors associates at venture funds.
